How to edit or create a new .htaccess file for a subdomain in ThirdSphere.

If you want to edit or create a new ".htaccess" file for a subdomain, please follow these instructions carefully:

1) Login to your web control panel and go to "Web Hosting Options"
2) Click on the "Online File Manager" link to launch it
3) Click on the small folder icon next to "/public_html/"
4) Click on the small folder icon next to your subdomain

Once you're there, you must check first if there is an existing .htaccess file (if one exists, it should be near the very top of the files listed on that subdomain).

5-a) If there is no .htaccess file:
Click on the "Create New File" link and then in the menu that appears on the right side in the box next to Create file named .htaccess and choose Text Document in the drop down box and click the Create button.

5-b) If there is an existing .htaccess file:
If an .htaccess file exists, then all you need to do is edit it (read below).

To edit the .htaccess file:

6) Click on the word ".htaccess" and a menu on the top-right side of your screen will open.
7) On that menu click on the "Edit file" link and the file editor will pop-up.
8) Paste the line(s) of code you need to appear on your .htaccess file.
9) When you're done, click on "Save" and close the window after you get the confirmation message telling you that your file has been saved.
